Depletion interaction between cylindrical inclusions in polymer brushes

Coarse-grained molecular dynamics, which groups atoms into larger sites, shows that interactions are organized by the distance over which overlapping brush segments move together. As brushes grow above the cylinders, the attraction strengthens and then weakens because a repulsive contribution emerges.
